How easy is it to get into Spartan? I was wondering if anybody would know if I would be able to get in to Spartan? I have a lot of direct patient care experience as an EMT and a fire man. Plus I volunteer at a hospital in the ER and I do research work and I am a Bio. major. However, I only have a cum. gpa of 2.35-2.40. And I may not take the MCAT's. If anybody could tell me how I would fair I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. I am going to be finshing up my science prereqs. in the next year and a half before I get my bachlors in biology. Plus a lot more direct patient care and volunteer experience. I am also very good at interviews.

I like to suggest that you should stay as far as you can from any medical school that accept students with less than 3.0 GPA.without any doubt you will find a school that will take you and you do not need to be good in interviewing.

I will repeat what I said before:

to go to med school you must have 3-3.5 GPA
Do all Basic sciences in Charter country[no short cuts]
Do all clinicals in greenbook hospitals[core]
do residency in University hospital if possible
must be board certified in your speciality.

I graduated May 30,85 and been thru 8-9 licensing boards and never ever been denied any license because I followed above criteria.Yes some boards will ask about your GPA in premed, and yes some boards like CA will use admissions standards as one of the criteria to approve schoolsand few states already following CA list[like NM but in NM if you finish residency,BC,and no claims then you will be ok/I called].my advise[personal openion]study hard to bring your GPA to above 3.0 and with your background you have a chance to do well .
good luck
