Prostate is just attached to bladder neck and ext. sphincter. (That's why the most important complication of TURP is ur. incontinence.) It covers a part of urethra called prostatic urethra. BPH occurs mainly in the central lobe of the prostate, in the tissue covering urethral prostate. That's why, contrary to prostate CA, the signs and symptoms of BPH start very early.
