Hello there,

Renovations/reconstructions are going very well. We have stripped 100 rooms out of 115 at the RH. Same thing has happened on campus.
We are now in the phase of rebuilding (roof, drywalls, etc...)

How is the rest of the Island doing? I will be living off campus and was wondering if I will be able to get housing for my family...I heard via Cayman Newspaper that 25-50% of the houses are uninhabital and unrepairable...will I be able to get housing by late Dec???

Hello,

Constructions workers and companies from the US, Canada and Jamaica are here working 24/7.
As I mentioned before, the island will be ready for Dec 15th, for tourist season.
East end and North sound might still be out of shape.....

Sebastian,
That sounds great...I'm sure the tourists will help boost the economy and that things are moving along in a positive fashion...Still no one has addressed the issue of off campus housing for students with families... The Cayman paper said that price gouging on rentals is a real problem and that NO rental properties are presently available... can you eloborate on this problem...Should I be looking for a boat to live on? what are dockage fees like?
Thank You
