ok heres what i think
1. E i agree with that
2. E coagulation necrosis happens in ischemic conditions the ohter 3 arent right.. b would be liquifactive i think. thats how abcesses are formes with liquifactive
3. D in carbon monoxide poisoning .. iron deficiency anemia decreased cardiac output and cyanosis the po2 is normal .. but respiratory acidosis its decreased.
4. B in the mainstem this happens because of smoking.. im pretty sure its the mainstem.. but a cant be right cause there is normaly goblet cells in the mainstem.. so that would be hyperplasia

Q-2
Which of the following disorders is an example of Coagulation necrosis?
a) Lobar pneumonia in an alcoholic
b) Hepatic absecess in a pt with amebiasis
c) Pseudomembranous colitis in a pt on ampicillin
d) Diminished brain mass in a pt with Alzheimer's disease
e) Embolus to the superior mesenteric artery leading to bowel infarction

Answer: e)
Hemorrhagic infarction.
A,B and C are liquefactive necrosis. D is atrophy

Q-3
In which of the following diseases would you expect a low arterial PO2 and a low oxygen saturation (SaO2)?
a) Carbon monoxide poisoning
b) iron deficiency anemia
c) Decreased cardiac output
d) Respiratory acidosis
e) Cyanide poisoning

Answer: d)
Choice A has a low SaO2. B, C and E have normal PO2 and SaO2.

Q-4
Which of the following disorders is an example of metaplasia?
a) Increased Goblet cells in mainstem bronchus of a smoker
b) squamous epithelium in the mainstem bronchus of a smoker
c) Proliferative endometrial glands in a woman on unopossed estrogen
d) Hyperkeratosis of the skin in a pt with Psoriasis
e) Multinucleated giant cells in a granuloma
