Hello,
I am from Canada. I have been accepted into the March 2005 intake of the Melaka-Manipal MBBS twinning program. I would like to get some information from others who might currently be in this program or those who are planning to take this program. I just basically wanted to know your thoughts about this program.
Thanks!

have you talked to your provincial board about whether they will accept this twinning concept?

from the checks i've done, it seems like as long the school is lited in the world medical school directory, it will be recognized. I guess it is a matter of passing the Canadian LMCC exams and obtaining a residency position in Canada that is proving to be a huge hurdle to cross

be sure that the switchero between schools doesn't cause problems though....ask the Provincial office to look at the website and comment.
just out of curiosity, is Melaka in Malaysia?

WHO listing is not a big thing , just consider many carrib medical schools with distant , e-learning and off-campus centres. most of them are WHO listed. does it proove helpfull.?
And r u sure both India and Malasyia schools are who listed.? i dont feel like that because the indian school is not recognised by MCI and it is out of controll of MCI.( of course manipal has got a university which is recognised by mci and if any one asks if "manipal"is recognised by MCI , it is , but this course is not under the purview of MCI , just like UEIMS conducting course of IUHS which is WHO listed. here also only the university is who listed , i beleive).
It is just like carrib schools like IUHS and KIGEZI , offering distant - education , with WHO listing in one place and teaching in another place.
