Hello everyone,
School's orientation is on 1/3/05. I wanted to know when is everybody planning to come to Grand Cayman Island. I was thinking of leaving the day after Christmas, but I don’t know if it’s going to be early.
Any advice :?:

wow thats WAY to early, especially if you have living arrangements in order before you come to the island (i would go the friday before you start and spend Sat getting a car and stuff because Sun everything on the island is shut down).

Hello,
On new year day, all shops will be closed except for the ones for cruise ships. There is no doubt about that.
If you are a new students and enroll in the RH, u can move in as early as 5 days in advance. That should be more than enough for the RH. Keep in mind that everything will be much easier if you stay at the RH for your first semester. Electricity, water, internet, it's all there and ready to go.
See you in January

What if we are bringing our families with us, i.e. kids.? I'll probably have a place lined up before getting to Cayman, but I'll need a couple of days to get the kids acclimated to their new surroundings. They will be needing school uniforms and stuff, and re-establishing their daily routines, etc.
How long does it normally take to get a Caymanian driver's license? What about getting a car and insurance?
Who should I contact to get in touch with other students who are bringing their families with them? I sent Sabastian an email, but maybe he did not receive it.
Are the phone lines still down on the island, because I still can't get through to the private school where I've enrolled my kids for next semester.
Is it okay to go ahead and purchase the airline tickets for the upcoming semester?
How soon should we purchase our books? and which editions are useful for Jan 2005?
Is there any baby sitting among the students or their spouses offered for the few of us that wil be without nannies? Even for a small fee?
If anyone can answer any of these questions, please feel free to post. I don't have much time to log on as frequently as I would like to. So, I kinda stuck all of my questions up here all at once. Sorry.
