Internal Medicine Residency

Just a heads up to anyone out there applying for internal medicine. I am doing preliminary medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.

The residency director has asked for all of the residents input regarding applicants for the upcoming year. He told us to let someone in the department know if we know people who are applying to the program so he can give the application a more thorough look.

If anyone is interested in Internal Medicine at a university program that is very IMG friendly and which so far has not killed me, let me know. It also pays well for a program where the cost of living is quite good.

Thanks for the heads-up Jon! Please drop by whenever you have the chance to let us know more about your clinical experiences. Students on the island are starved for stories about clinicals. Anything you could share with us would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to drop by and talk about clinical stuff, but Saba is a little far from Syracuse.

My first vacation is coming up in February so if you and a bunch of others want to take up a collection and pay for my flight, I wouldn't mind coming down. I think the school would pay for my stay if I was adressing the students.

I am playing powerball though, so should I hit the jackpot I would likely come down sooner.

What semester are you in? Don't worry everyone, you will be home for good in no time. Time really flys by. Study hard.
