Hey everyone...

Just wondering whats the deal with cars on the island on Saba...i looked in to shipping mine down but its insane expensive..i wanted to know what kind of cars are available..or what the used market is like and roughly how much for a used car..

Any thoughts would be appreciated...im gonna be lost in that island without my baby.

Hey khizer,
did you look in the marketplace forum?
If you did and didn't find anything, you may want to think about getting to the island a few days before class and ask around school for any fifth semester students who may be wanting to unload their burden car on ya (not physically though, that might be painful :P )

A decent car will cost you around $2500. Though gas is mighty expensive (upwards of $3.50 a gallon last time I figured it), insurance, tag and maintenance are reasonable. With a little care, you should be able to get most of your money pout of it when you leave.

I wouldn't ship a car down because it will be hard to get your money back out of it once you leave (especially if you "customize" it on one of the walls). You just need something to get you back and forth about 2 to 3 miles each day. Leave the V-8, A/C and power windows at home.

Best of Luck!

Yeah, I've heard the hills there are pretty steep. It wouldn't be fun to use your gluteals to get you up those babies on a rainy day khizer.

My car was on the blink the past few days. I had no trouble getting a ride to and from school. Having a car is definitely more convenient, but getting around without one isn't hard.

Best of Luck!
