A bunch of us from AUC are heading out for a weekend trip to Saba. What are the "must see/do" things on the island. We are staying at Scout's Place. We looked into renting a car but decided against it when we heard $55 a day! Do you think it's safe to rely on taxis and or hitchhiking to get around?
Thanks!

Visitors from across the pond! Awesome!
Okay, hitching and taxis are a pretty reliable way to get around. The island isn't that big, as I'm sure you can tell.
If you're a diver I'd definitely recommend that. The Tent Reef dive is awesome! I might be going Sat. afternoon myself if I'm feeling up to it. At least do some snorkeling.
If you're a hiker, hike up Mt. Scenery. Take PLENTY of water!
Take a quick peek at the school. Won't take long.
Queen's Garden and YIIK are good places to eat, but a bit more costly. Then there's Scout's, which is where you'll be. I don't know if Saba Treasures will be back open yet, but they tend to have good pizza. Tropics has great burgers and jalapeno poppers, within walking distance, and you can eat by the pool.
What day are you arriving?

thanks for the quick response! We will arrive on Saba friday afternoon. We have 3 dives planned for sat and a hike planned for sunday. We have to figure out what to do Friday, and Sat night.
How far is the school from Scout's Place?

You are awfully articulate for a 1 year old.
Three dives on Saturday eh? Wowsers - do you have your dive tables all calculated out? Just kidding!
The school is halfway across the island from Scouts. You'd have to hitch or take a taxi, unless you really like walking that much. If you don't make it there it's really no biggie. Just look at the pics on the website.
