is there a central school server holding all our class notes and syllabi and all that? that really was the neatest and most helpful thing and would make things so much easier for those of us who had the misfortune not to be able to secure a dorm room in cayman and by consequence no amerisuites room in portland either.

i am still pleased with my choice of school and i appreciate a lot of what the admin has done, but this housing issue seems like it's going to dog me throughout the semester. i had just found a place in west bay when i evacuated to miami a few days later just before the storm. getting out before the storm was the only thing that's gone my way. and another big problem is with the lack of a school server, they are not compensating by sending us emails in our smucayman accts as i believe they should regarding each meeting and the news and developments within.

so if anyone doesn't mind and has the time, i would deeply appreciate just whatever information you are willing to post regarding the situation, schedule etc. i am some distance away without a car and attempting to secure housing (which is really really hard to do for just ten wks as prob others know). for example, is attendance from the island being counted because i missed a few classes due to looking for a place to live while my hotel bill was piling up and it looks like i am in for exactly a repeat here.

again, i apologize if i seem whiny and ungrateful, i really am not. i am just a bit tired of the housing dilemna which after much searching i finally resolved in cayman only for you know what.

You should still be able to access www.smuonline.com. As far as the others, I'm not really sure, but you could email it@smucayman.com and see what he says. I know he's in Maine helping out.

I hope that helps!

I can access smuonline just fine. That's not the problem. The problem is it contains no useful or relevant information. Last couple of wks we were receiving updates, sometimes daily, but they have stopped and for those people (i have no idea how many, maybe i am alone in this boat?) who are some distance away and have a hard time accessing the amerisuites/marriott, receiving some updates on smuonline would be tremendously helpful.

Email Tom Miller at the email above, he should be able to make sure they get out to you, or are on www.smuonline.com.

hey,

One thing i can tell you, the smu.ky server is not about to get back on. We are trying to host it outside of cayman
