That's pretty pricey, which city are you coming from? Have you tried Travelcuts.ca? I did a little search for you, based on a January 1, 2004 departure from Toronto to St. Maarten, a one-way would only cost you $493.02 including tax! Then from there, you can just either take the ferry for $40 US, or take Winair for double that price. Ferry is good if you have lots of luggage, they only charge $5 per extra bag you have. I get motion sickness, so i prefer Winair.
Sites that my fellow canadians and I looked into are:
www.travelocity.ca
www.expedia.ca
www.travelcuts.ca
I found travelcuts to be cheapest of the three, but there may be more websites out there. Anyone else care to share? Lobotomy_Man, i know you have internet now, perhaps you can drag your gluteal onto ValueMD and give us some input.

Stiches aka "50 Guilder",
I am so engrossed in studying / to lazy to get my *** off of my bed to slap you.....
FYI. I ended up buying a 2 way ticket from Toronto, but I only used 1 leg of the trip. It was cheaper for me to buy 2 ways then the 1 way. The prices really vary according to season and when you actually buy the ticket. While shopping for tickets to get my *** home in december I came across a USair flight for 850, then checked again 3 days later and the flight was up to 1050. You newbies should expect to spend anywhere from 800-1100 for both ways (within 1 month travel dates).
On another note. Us first semester people are really busy now, but we still tend to check in on valuemd every few days.
Me.
