JV and researchingguy give a decent assesment at http://www.valuemd.com/viewtopic.php?t=3410&highlight=windwardside+bottom
If you do a search you can probably also find more info.
I've always heard that St. John's is the most expensive for renting.
If money is not an issue, you could stay at Econolodge or Queens Gardens hotel. :D

Oh my, wolf - there's no Econolodge here!!! It's the Ecolodge!!! Slight difference!

As for the place to stay - is this a hotel for a temporary visit, or a place to stay while you're a student?

It would be where I would stay. I have already done my living in a closet with 4 other roomates phase of my life, and want to be as comfortable as possible, even if it means I pay more.My thinking is that I will also be more productive(rationalization?)Anyway, after taking Wolfie suggestion, I tried a search on valueMD, and checked into Ecolodge(figuratively speaking). But they have no A/C. There is a very expensive alternative hotel, but that is monetarily unreasonable. Any ideas??

St. Maarten. Fly into Saba in the mornings and come back to civilization around 5ish. (hey, you said money was no issue right?!)

Flights are around 55 bucks roundtrip so it's really not that bad when you factor in the 90 or so dollars/day at a hotel at Caravanserai on St. Maarten.

Juliana's is a comfortable place to stay. The two cottage are nice and the rooms look good. It's the only place I have stayed (besides my house) on the island.

The rooms at Queen's Garden seem nice but are a bit more expensive.

Scout's is supposed to be good, but I've never seen the rooms.

Willard's is supposed to be an actual "resort" but the price of their rooms is out of sight.

The Ecolodge doesn't have ac, but it's a cool spot that I've always wanted to try.

Wherever you stay bargain for the lowest possible price. It's low season right now and there aren't too many tourists around.

Best of Luck!
