i took the exam on aug 19 and received my score today ( unexpectedly a day early)
i got 255/99
my study methods were as follows;
started studying properly last week of may.did kaplan material for all except goljan cd/notes and webpath for path.
managed some of qbook , average 75.
did 85% of qbank and cumulative of 74
did not do the kaplan simulated.
nbme form 1 640 (2 weeks before exam)
nbme form 2 600 (1 week before exam)
exam itself,
the three ps- path, phys and pharm.
pathology- covered every area including cellular path including apoptosis, protooncogenes, tumor suppressor. (all in gojan- a goldmine of information)
understanding physio extremely important, esp ca metabolism,renin-ang system and hormones.
pharm - understand the concepts of partial agonist, etc,
questions require you to apply these concepts to hypothetical drugs.
also straightforward qs on many drugs.
i found that out of every block 30 qs straightforward 10 difficult, 10 impossible.
good luck to everyone
