There's a lot of information already posted here about Varna. Do a search and ask a specific question.

hi,
I am from Varna and I will not advise you to come here especially if you are from western europe or USA . You will waste your time and learn nothing. You will be shocked by the cultural difference, incompetence, corruption, poverty. After all Bulgaria is a post communist state with all its drawbacks and no advantages at all.I've heard about a program in the Varna university that will enroll american students in the 6 year course of medical education and I was really stunned by that. How would it work??Here the professors don't speak English!!!Let alone their knowledge in medicine! The medical library is filled with almost no books and journals.Of course you can buy the books by yourself, but the empty library should tell you something about the level of the medical education here, which has nothing to do with preparation for USMLE.Not to mention the miserable hospitals with almost no technology and medications ,filled with desperate patients treated by even more desperate doctors with monthly payment of $150.
For $ 200 per month you can find a nice appartment to live in,if you do not want to experience the misery of the student campus. It is a small city and probably you will not need a car.

Bottom line: Find another country to spend your most productive student years!!
