Residents?

I emailed about 8 or so residents (from the info on the Saba website), half of which are doing residency in my home state, but haven't heard back from anyone. It's been a week or so, and it seems odd that at least 1 of them wouldn't drop me a line, if nothing else than to say "i'm really busy but bottom line saba ___." This is a huge decision so I was hoping to hear from someone that went through Saba and is doing their residency in the US, in particular in Psychiatry and/or in NC. Anyone on this forum a resident with a minute to PM me their assessment of the school?

In defense of the people you emailed, it is possible that many of the email addresses are outdated, or if you could imagine that maybe these residents truly are quite busy, and would rather spend some time with their families than returning random email.

I, however am also a busy resident with a family but I also like to browse the forum to see what is going on with the school. It is through the forum where I actually first heard of the school.

To answer your questions about Saba, I would say that you could not make a better choice of an offshore med school given your preferences of psychiatry and NC. Psychiatry is not very competitive and you would likely get into that field from just about any WHO approved school.
As far a Saba goes, we have had many people go into psychiatry. I know of two clerkships sites that Saba has in NC. If you wanted to stay in NC for residency I am sure that you could make numerous connections in the area so you could do so.

I can get you in touch with a Saba grad who mentored me a little as I was applying to med schools, he's now in residency, but not a psychiatrist.
