I just took Step 1 for the second time and flunked again!! My first score was a 154 and now my score is 175. I've about exhausted all of my resources (Kaplan, Princeton, review books) and even considered "throwing in the towel". Should I still keep going? Can anyone give me some guidance please? I would be very grateful.

Have you failed after this score?I actually do not know exact scoring interpretation. If you can reappear I find no reason for giving up t he hope. But I want to know whether you can reappear or not.

If you mean retaking the exam when you said "reappear", then, yes, I can still retake it. I really appreciate your encouragement.

I am 43, I have taken the step I three times and I am going for number four. Never give up, if you have gotten this far you can go all the way.

hey Ambet,
I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time. I know of someone who was lucky on their third attempt. May I ask what school you go to? Maybe they have some prep courses that they can offer you.
Good luck

Keep it up ... do not throw in the towel! Step1 has a lot to do with luck. The 3rd time may be the winner. I have a friend who has taken the Step1 four times ... exactly 180 every time. She petitioned the NBME to regrade all four exas. NBME came back and said that the scores were accurate. She is now preparing for the 5th attempt. Don't give up ... follow your dreams, they won't let you down.

I flunked two times on step 1. I gave up and travelled to India and found a spiritual guru. He helped me understand the meaning of life. I meditated and did a lot of yoga. Meditation helped clear up my mind. I took step 1 the third time and I got a 92.
Never give up.

Dear friend:
The point is tht you must analize what were your mistakes, not only continuing trying to go for third time.
You must analize carefully about situations, problems, feelings, material, etc that cause your second fall.
You must change ALL OF IT.
For example when you were taking Qbank Or answering questions, what was your score?
Do you realize if there are similarities between your score from real test and the practice test?
Or you think that your EXAMEN was more more difficult than the first examen that you took?
Try to think about that........
I want help you,
