Well I was having dinner tonight and overheard about a student who has started rotations this fall, and has had problems getting a reasonable schedule because there is not enough room. In other words, he has to pack up and move every six or eight weeks. I dont know specifics about this persons situation, but it got me thinking. With our class(4th term) being the first of the 350 plus class size to reach rotations, will there be room for us?? Does the school administration have plans in place for placing this number of students in rotations? It seems that things like this never get thought of ahead of time, such as this term we went to bourne hall and no less than probably 50 ppl were left standing the first couple of days of class. Also, nothing was in place for the increased number of students using the internet on campus so noone could get on for the last 3 weeks. I seriously hope they are planning ahead for us for rotations otherwise its gonna be a huge mess with people all having ridiculous schedules through their rotation years.

You have to know the specifics about the situation before making any assumptions. The reason I say this is because if this person was assigned to NJ and did not have his scores in before he was suppose to start (which is required by NJ) then he cannot start at that hospital compared to NY where they let you start and do 6 weeks without scores and then he has to go wherever there are spots for each rotation because by then all the core centers are already assigned. If the school is accepting more students they have to have spots for them in rotations. There are clinical centers that they pull students from because they dont have enough students to send there (i.e Flushing Hospital). The school has expanded its hospital list and I believe they are looking to expand some more. So see what happens and focus on 4th term and step 1.
