I see that you all were admitted to the May 2005 class at Saba. I have not yet taken the MCAT, and I was wondering did you take the MCAT? Will you have to take it in May? How does that work?

There are quite a few of us who are at different points in achieving our career's as physicians (not just May 2005 students); that being said, have you been to the Saba website?

Not everyone going to SUSOM has taken the MCAT. I did, but they do accept students who haven't taken it. Have you printed off an application if you're considering going to school at SUSOM? That would give you a better idea of what they're looking for.
Is this your first time with the MCAT? (What a bear of an exam... so mean...so hairy...big teeth  ) I'm sure you'll do fine though. Saba has a rolling admissions which means to you that there are three semesters that start throughout the year (January, May, and September), I'm starting in January. Pending when you'll recieve the MCAT results (once it's taken- and I'd recommend taking it bye-the-bye) you can apply for a semster or two ahead (although starting in May or September is probably best from what I've heard)!

Good luck with whatever you're doing; I hope this was helpful!

I got in with no MCAT. You can view my stats in the Jan. 05 thread above, though I deferred to May.

I got into Saba with an overall GPA = 3.2 and Science GPA = 2.8
However I had an extensive list of extracurricular activities.

Good luck!

Give Bernice in Gardner a call. Run your numbers and info by her and she can give you the best advice about taking the MCAT. Since it isn't required here, it is often used to strengthen an application.

Take 15 minutes, spend the $5 for the call (actually, they an 800 number) and get it straight from her (or Joanne). They will steer you in the right direction.

Best of Luck!
