Can anybody give any advise on what books are necessary for 3rd semester (textbooks, HY and BRS)?

I'm assuming, just like the past two semesters, not all of the books are "necessary".

Thanks in advance.

2 books I used when i was in 3rd:

Big Robbins
BRS Behavioral sciences

Pathology:
big Robbins-if you're looking for something to do over break, know the first three chapters well because that material will come back again and again.
Robbins Review of Pathology-these are all questions and explanations (some of the mini questions are very similar)
Dr. Tweedale uses webpath v6.0, but I've seen everyone else use mostly webpath v8.0

Behavioral Science:
for the class: Psych BRS
for the shelf and epidemiology portion of the course: Behavioral Science BRS
Don't get me wrong, Kaplan and Saddock is a great book, but the profs don't really follow it much.

Pharmacology:
class notes, but the Katzung review book that Lange puts out is a good reference to have. There's some questions in there that Dr. Babbini told us to do.

Microbiology:
Lange Medical Microbiology and Immunology-mostly to look up confusing topics-most test questions are out of the notes. From people who took the shelf in 4th (heard it was very difficult)-said that the questions from this book were very similar.
Immunology:
You definately need some book because the material can get confusing (biochem relived). I think any immuno book will really do. The bookstore was sold out of the required text, so I bought, "Immunology, a short course" (E. Benjamini, R. Coico, and G. Sunshine)-I love this book because the chapters get to the point and it's a fast, easy read.
Also, if you're looking for something to do-read some immuno because the more familiar you are with it, the more class will make sense.
Everyone will tell you something different, but it's a good idea to get some books with questions-all depends on your learning style.
Cheers,
Vanessa
