Thought this may be of use for those planning to travel with lots of luggage.....BWIA and Air Canada have a contract with Liat Airlines to allow the max (i.e. 140lbs) through all the way to Dominica. The only thing is to tell the folks checking in your baggage to tag it straight to Dominica and the stop over time has to be relatively short (ie no overnighters)

I was very surprised to find this out. Anyone travelled with BWIA??

Not likely as the closest stop "Bee-wee" makes is in Martinique and, almost counterintuitively, it's not that easy to get to Dominica from Martinique by air.

What if one stops in Antigua (sp?) and takes a connecting flight to dominica via liat airlines? Atleast thats the info I was given by my travel agent and the liat airlines in Antigua (yes I actually called them up).

But then again, both could just be plain wrong ( I wouldn't be surprised)

Why not? BWIA may have added flights to Antigua since I was on the Rock. I may be wrong as well.

Point is, get there as safely and cheaply as possible. There's no real point in trying to make it there in a single day, unless it's cheaper than spending the night somewhere. Relax, mon! Deese is dee islands.
