so its been a full two months since i took the step 1 and a full month since i got my scores and faxed them in(i passed)...however, i havent recieved my clinical rotation schedule...its really upsetting to me especially since i want to make the 2006 match...my clinical advisor Mr. *****, told me two days ago (aug 23) he didnt even know i took the test let alone that i passed...so he said he would work on my schedule..well when i called today he said he still hasnt recieved my scores (i already faxed them in three times)...so i can expect that he wont be doing my schedule for another two weeks... so i have three questions

1) can i change my clinicial advisor

2) is there anyone i can talk to or complain to to get things moving...(i dont think dr. ***** will do anytihng since my advisor mr. &+***** is her brother)

3) has anyone else went through this and what did you do?

PLEASE HELP... GETTING VERRY FRUSTRATED!!!!!

...my clinical advisor Mr. *****...

There's your problem right there.

This is a vestige of the nepotism-laden old Ross. Personally, I was hoping that they'd have done a better job of "weeding the garden" since DeVry took over. Sadly, I was wrong.

If you have ***** for your advisor, you're better off just setting up your rotations on your own. Seriously. Talk to ***** ***** at Wyckoff in Brooklyn. Personally, I think ***** possibly has an undiagnosed mental disorder.

P.S. You're only other option is to threaten to go there in person. Call him and tell him you will be there on such-and-such a date at such-and-such a time. He backs down when threatened. And, sadly and almost pathetically, this is usually the only thing that motivates him.

The clinical deparment along with every other department sucks. I can't believe the staff has not changed. I can't wait till I graduate. I have learned so much and so ready to start residency. This administration is one of the worst I've ever dealt with.

I faxed my clinical schedule for the next 6 months (faxed 3 times) and will now have to wait for financial aid because they can't give me money if I'm not doing rotations?

Took almost a month to get in touch with ***** ***** in financial aid. Left exactly 10 messages with no reply. She willl not return calls. You need to get lucky and catch her in her office which is about 20 minutes during the entire day.

Sorry about the rant....just pissed off as I am waiting an extra 2 months for financial aid.

Thats actually pretty normal for Ross Clinical. I consider myself lucky that I got my schedule without much delay but it was still a big mess.
When I got my grades, I faxed them to the registrar's office and then called Mr. Green and left him a mssg.
Then I called Ms. ***** at clinical dept and she told me it would take about a week for them to get me a schedule cuz they had to get the grades from the registrar.
Then a week went by and no response so I call her again and she says she never got the grades and that she would follow up with registrars and to call her after one week.
I then immediately called Mr.***** (Luckly I got through to him) and he told me he just spoke to ***** ***** and she has my grades blah blah blah.
So I waited a week and still did not hear anything so I gave her another call. She tells me again she doesn't have the grades and tells me to call her next week.
So I call her early the following week and thats when i finally got the schedule.
So this all took about 5 phone calls total over the course of 3 weeks.

That was my story! Although my former roommate has Mr. ***** as his advisor and he gets his schedule over the phone.

I would advise you to keep calling and if that doesn't work, you might just have to show up at his office.

yes, the clinical dept are a bunch of slackers. you are stating what your problem is..."i called after a week" , I faxed my scores" etc etc. call every day. make yourself a pain in their ***. dont fax ANYTHING. send it certified mail, so they have to sign for it. I did this, and had my schedule by certified mail about 4 days after i got my scores. but i drove em nuts, and they did their job so I would stop bothering em.

Hey there,

I don't have any advice about the rotations.(I'm not even remotely close)..but I do have some suggestions about the NJ office. I too was in a position where I was not getting responses and was tired of waiting. My suggestion..if they tell you to call after a week...call them after two days....they tell you to call in a few days, call them the next day and "confirm" they have received your grades. You have to be very, very, very persistent. They will then proceed to tell you that they told you to call in a week....thats when you play dumb and say..."oh my mistake", or "opps, must have been a misunderstanding of some sort"......they key is to CALL them until they get so tired of hearing from you they get your work done asap.

There's no way I would have been able to make it for the sept class if I hadn't called then over and over again.

Myrandom2003:

My son had his transcript sent three times by his swchool. Ross claimed they never received it so he went to his school, got the transcript and hand delived it to Edison, NJ. Of course this is one good reason to live in Jersey.

I've got the Ross Administation screw up to end ALL screw ups....my financial aid came to Ross from the lenders AND ROSS SENT IT BACK. No one had any explanation on why it was sent back, but it took 3 semesters to get it cleared up.

Hey,
I know what you are going through. I am kind of in a similar situation. I was supposed to take the test tomorrow (USMLE), but since I haven't heard from Phillip Perry regarding my special rotation, I decided to postpone it. The problem is I am about to miss the 2006 match, but they could care less... I figured, if they are such screwups, why not just take my time to study for this test and deal with them later.
My only advice to you is to call them as early as possible and keep on trying. I have left voicemails, sent faxes, emails, and even certified mail. All with no response, you have to try to call them early and see if you can get ahold of them and talk to one of them. This is absolutely rediculous. Try emailing or writing to the head of the school whoever he or she is to complain about this situation...
Good luck man...
