hey everyone......I have just started my first tri at Spartan this may.......Honestly it was a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR shock coming to this island from big city vancouver........i got here and called my mom and told her to book me on the next plane out of this place.......But rigt after i got off the phone i started to meet some new students and students from other trimesters........and now i LOVE this place.....i really do like spartan.....st.lucia is totally third world but u get used to it really quick and its really cool to live in such a different place.......Spartan is a nice small school and everyone here is awesome!.....the proffs really help the students and its very personal!.......it is forsure alot of hard work......i mean its the third week of class and we have a HUGE anatomy exam tommorow and an even HUGER physiology exam on monday.......Living ehre is kinda cool too.......all the students live in the same neighbourhood kinda thing......and seriously its like everyone is family......its awesome!.....well that is my opinion anyway......the upperclass men are also always there for you and will totally help you!......apartments are easy to find......Mr.Maxwell the school driver will take you around to all the available housing and you chooses where you want to live.......its very fun here i must say......i made friends really quickly and i just got back from trinidad(weekend vacation)......on the weekends you can go to other islands and chill when you have a spare moment......but make no mistake.......there is a lot of work required to pass the classes here!.....anyone who wants to persue medicine at spartan has to know that school will take up 95% of your day and you must keep on top of things from day one otherwise you are seriously SCREWED!.......hope this information helped you future students out there......email me at ggb83@hotmail.com if you need anything......at this moment it may take me a while to respond as exams are like every week here and i dont have too much time......please dont hesitate to ask any questions:)

st lucia is one of the best islands compare to the others, concentrate on passing your exams and you will love it in your third year working shoulder to shoulder with the US medical students, and you have the rest of your career and life to live in a big city.hundreds of us spartan grads doing very well here in the states and my advise close your ears to rumors, focus on your goals and go get your dreams.
best of luck

EMERSON * tips his hat and shakes your hand.

Thats great to hear of your experience, especially how you totally didn't want to be there at first by sight. Obviously it goes to show what little the "living conditions" plays in your purpose ! I should be there in September, looking forward to meeting you. Please do keep us informed of whats going on, or even how your doing. Best wishes !!
