32-year-old male has "cauliflower" skin lesions. Tissue biopsy shows broad-based budding yeasts. What is the diagnosis?
This is in FA. It say it is "blastomyces"
Yes,blastomyces shows "broad-based budding yeasts"; but I think the answer should be Chromoblastomycosis and they are soil saprophytes.
What do you think? Am I right or wrong?
Thanks.

I agree what you say. What I confuse is that "blastomyces" don't not cause disease with feature "cauliflower", which is seen in "chromoblastomycosis". Chromoblastomycosis is a subcutaneous infection caused by a variety of copper-colored soil saprophytes. Blastomyces cause systemic fungal infections.
They are different fungal infections.
