Anyone headed down to the island tomorrow? I'm flying out of Miami at 8:30am.

Have fun while you can, and eat as much good food as you can; you won't be having much fun nor eating good food once you get to hell, errr, I mean Dominica.

Eat as much quality beef and fresh vegetables as you can before comming to Dominica. Their steaks down here resemble boiled beef jerkey. There's also still a beef ban due to a mad cow scare.
Ease off on the chicken. There will be plenty of that down here.

You can make your own salad. Just make sure you WASH everything really well. They use $#It (human and animal) for fertilizer. YUMMY!!!
You can also take the bus to Ft Young every now and then....or after every mini...EC30...for some semi decent food.

got the spinach at market today in Roseau...now I'm just on the prowel for dressing....
By the way-if you're ever stuck in Roseau, there's a pretty decent breakfast buffet at Fort Young for about 10usd
...maybe I'll hit coco rico's Monday...
as another aside-even if you do wash you're salad, it's alway wise to de-worm every semester-(because you can get them from a lot of places). The pharmacy accross the street from school will hook you up with safe meds.

If you are up to creating your own: egg yolk (raw), ground pepper, sardine (ground - if you like), 1/2 squeezed lemon, and parmesan cheese - mix till creamy.
enjoy!

You gotta hit the Breezee Mart if you are in the Roseau area. While it's probably the best grocery store on the entire island, the ice cream shop outside is worth the trip by itself!

I think they lifted the ban because I saw American beef in James store that was not previously there; and I also saw some beef stir fry mix.
