I need books, now!

Is everyone ordering from the online store or are you going to amazon and such? Some of the books are not available through amazon, but University books Online doesn’t mention any availibility issues. I just don’t want to pay for them through the online store and then get an email telling me some of the books won’t be arriving until next semester!

If anyone has any experience, please pass it on.

I ordered all my books from Amazon last night and saved some money. Unfortunately, I'm not sure they will be here in time before I go back.

Don't rely on UBO or anybody to tell you that they are out of stock before you order. One way to insure you have the books you need is to buy them at home and lug them down (that's what I did first and fourth semester). You can also find some books for sale or to borrow down here. Just make sure you have Netter's Atlas and the BRS for Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. I checked last week and there are at least ten of the required embryo books on the shelf in the library. There are also a number of Histo books available right now. If you have room I also highly suggest you bring down a copy of the Mini Moore's. It's a very good high-yield anatomy book.

I know you're probably a little tense about starting this whole thing. Try to cover your bases with textbooks etc. as best you can, then relax. Don't worry. Things will work out well for you here as long as you are willing to "roll with the punches" (don't worry about that either, none of us have really been punched too bad). 8)

I order my books from Amazon and have them shipped directly to the island. I go to UBO and see what books I need, and then order from Amazon. If you have them ship to the island, follow the address in the student handbook MINUS the PO box and in the City, put "SABA, Dutch West Indies," and for country select "Netherlands-Antilles."

Make sure to put the "Dutch West Indies" in there so they don't accidentally (absent-mindedly) ship them to the Netherlands.
