I lived at Hubert Corbette's apartment on Banana trail my first semester. To put a very long story short, I woke him up at 1 in the morning because I lost my keys. He *&^%&&* at me for several minutes and told me that I couldn't do this anywhere in the US. I wasn't about to sleep on Banana trail that whole night or would I sleep at school until the morning.

The next day, I got kicked out of my apartment. Luckily it was the day after finals, but unfortunately, a day before I had to catch a flight back to the US. So, instead of spending the day relaxing before I had to leave, I was hauling my butt around trying to find a new apartment and then eventually, had to move all my stuff out of my apartment and into my new place. To say the least, it was a NIGHTMARE. I came to school to ask for some support, but the housing office said,"If Mr. Corbette doesnt want you in his apartment, then you can't live there."

This was my situation. Some landlords are much different, much nicer and more flexible. I just wanted to tell you my situation with Mr. Corbette. He is very strict. Some landlords on this island will kick you out of their apt if they want to and there's nothing you can do about it.

Try apartments owned by Mr. Armour. They are pricey, but the service I've received has been excellent.

Sorry to hear about your situation. That's such a shame that he cursed you out and then kicked you out! I have locked myself out of my apartment almost 10 times and I've never had a problem...the worse was once on a Sunday before my Anatomy lab practical and I had to wait 2 hours before my landlord came. Try to give a spare key to a trusty friend of keep one in your locker at school. When I lived in the states, our electricity short-circuited and I called my landlord at some ridiculous hour--he wasn't exactly thrilled, but he didn't yell or anything like that!
