if you do not want the maids to come in can you use a "do not disturb" sign?

yeah a DND sign works fine, sometimes when i forget and they knock and i am sleeping or studying i just say no thanks. they could care less. they are honest though and do a great job.

no better feeling then coming home after a long day and finding the room that was a mess clean and shiny, with the bed made, the floors mopped and the bathroom clean

Thank you for your nice comments on the housekeeping department. I am very pround of the team there and I will let them know about it.
I have to add that they are on a schedule for each floor. If you asked them not to come, your next chance will be few days later.
Maid service is twice a week, although the second one is a superficial
