credit cards

Hi!
I know that most places don't take credit cards like rental agencies & landlords, but what about car dealerships? B/c my parents are coming down with me and they don't want to bring cash down with them to buy me a car. What about restaurants, do they take credit cards?
Could you please list other places that take credit cards?

I would suggest that your parents bring traveler's checks down with them because I doubt the dealerships accept credit cards, but don't quote me on that! I'm not even sure if they will take traveler's checks, but you could always exchange them at a local bank prior to your car purchase. If they don't like that idea then they can always use a debit card and get cash out of the ATM's, but beware because several students have been ripped off that way, especially at the Winwards Island ATM's.

Yes, a lot of restaurants around here accept credit cards, as well as the major stores you will shop at: Maho Food Express, Cost-U-Less, Gran Marche, and Rams.

lease from Marshall Motors in Cole Bay they do take credit cards for sure. We pay with ours every month.

What about AUC, can you pay for tuition, other fees, or buy stuff at Note Service w/ credit cards?

I *heard* you can't, but maybe things have changed? Oh well, it's not a biggie...except to pay tuition. I don't want to carry $8500 around.

no credit cards allowed at note service; only cash (no 100 bills). i am not sure about traveler checks. tuition is usually paid with loan money... i am not sure if you can use credit cards... all other fees, (SGA etc etc... cash)
