The maximum number of transfer semesters SMU awards credit for is 4, and that is at the discretion of the Vice President and Admissions Committee. So there is no direct transfer into SMU for clinicals.

Currently SMU is licensed in FL and approved by NY.

SMU graduates may not practice in Kansas (until 2012) or California. While we are in the latter stages of the California process and hope to have a decision soon, unless you are transferring from a California approved school, you would still not be able to practice in California upon graduation.

Texas is also not approving most caribbean graduate applications lately, so SMU is not suggesting that its graduates attempt to enter Texas at this time.

Thanks for your interest in SMU!
