no.. no decision as of yet.
I am stressing everybody out with this i think... the funny thing is that i have my plane tickets and everything ready to go to cayman.. i just cant muster up the courage to pick!!
everybody i have talked to has a differing opinion about SGU vs. SMU. I either get that SGU is the ultimate in caribbean education and i would be crazy not to go there... or the "IMG is IMG" story from folks who say in the end it doesnt matter which caribbean school I choose.
Its like SMU has all the fluff I want like nice island, right price, done by 08 and off the island by next august.... with SGU sucking it up on that list... grenada is so freakin far down there, pricey as hell, done in 09 and on the island(s) for the full 2 yrs... However, SGU has the clinical sites guranteed in their hub and it isnt sticky or messy when setup time begins.. and the residency list is nice... SMU cant even give me a listing of how many students went where to do what.... scary.
I realize that if i work hard i could end up in most of the same residencies that SGU folks are at... but then again... maybe i should just go to SGU and not worry about it?
ok.. so.. NO i havent decided. stay tuned though... i change my mind every 5 minutes... to the shagrin of my folks who already think im nuts.

okay
u know what i did, i went on yahoo and found a few students from saint matthews doing residencies in phoenix, florida, chicago, rhode island, and that was only a few, since not all hospitals post list of residents, and 2 of those residents that i looked up were in surgery and anesthesiology.
so i guess it is possible to land a good residency after SMU
so relax and come to SMU!!!
your friends were right IMG is IMG and dont forget that MD IS MD, noone will ask you whether you went to Harvard med. school or University of WestBumblef**k

here are some pics of me.... I will be attending SMU this fall.... I used to be in the auto business mainly buying high end cars and exporting them to the mid east... gave that business up to pursue a lifelong passion in making more of myself.... unfortunately no flashy ride for me while in the Cayman Islands as I want to try to just be a "normal" student and not draw unwanted attention...

they took it off, probably 'cause it was too big, still we are the only ones here
I just got accepted to SMU last week for the May of 2005 class. Any advice on why to chose SMU over the other schools? :I am very excited but now overwhelmed with all the information being thrown at me. Any thoughts on SMU would be apprecaited...Thanks

hey, if you need anything, don't email them. Might have to call and ask for adriana, she's very helpful. And read this forum, JP is helpful as well, this is where you'll find most of the stuff that you need.
Thanks!Just trying to make a decision before I send in my seat deposit.
