Yes, we have class on Thanksgiving. :?
Thanksgiving is not a Domincan holiday, but it might be nice to arrange your own feast to celebrate it.

If you could actually get a feast on this rock. You might be able to get "sewer chicken" and pass if off as a turkey. No rest for the weary down here.
Last year my kid and three friends hosted a Thanksgiving feast for 28 people on the island. They took lots of pictures showing two large oven roasted turkeys with stuffing, canned yams, corn, potatoes, homemade crescent rolls, pumpkin pies (I had shipped the canned pumpkin) and wine from the wine store in Roseau. My kid says that the stores, James & Tina's, preorder the turkeys for the US students. So it is very possible to have a memorable Thanksgiving feast on Dominica. (I think they had asked for donations from the diners to help offset the cost of the food and decorations). That was one Thanksgiving that will never be forgotten.
Best wishes to you all for success at Ross.

wow, that has to be really hard to make a success. its not like you're able to hop into the car and head over to the neighborhood grocery giant and pick up all the items you've forgotten in the midst of cooking at reasonable prices down there...everything has to be planned ahead of time, and many compromises have to be made.

Ross Christian Fellowship actually gives out free turkeys to anyone. They gave out 30 free turkeys last thanksgiving. You do not have to be a member, just ask...
