hopefully prevalent enough that you can score a joint for friday night, but not so serious that your car gets broken into

Drugs are taking very seriously by the Cayman Authorities, and there are very serious consequences that follow.
There have been a few instances of students being jailed and/or deported for doing drugs.
Come here, study, do well, and you won't have a problem!
Good luck!

i completely agree, i think its pathetic that someone whos intended to get into a medical field, would be talking about drug use

On a different kind of drug note.
Does anyone know of the entrance requirements for drugs? Can I bring over-the-counter and prescriptionn drugs with me? Do they have to be sealed? Is there a limited amount or number of pills I can take? Do I need to take the prescription from a doctor with me?
Please PM me with a reply.
Thanks,
Ariana

Any medication you bring in need to be brought in your carry on luggage. I would suggest bringing at least a 30 supply. A doctors note is only necessary if there are syringes or controled substances. Rx from docs in the states are not accepted by pharmacies here so you either need to bring enough for the entire semester or make a connection with a physician when you get here.

one semesters worth of medications shouldnt be a prb. i wouldnt bring in vicodin or oxycontin or anything with syringes unless i had a written note from my doc, or unless everything was labeled by a pharmacy as required. you never know what the immigration will choose to do, so paperwork verifying the necessity for your medication is a must.

Dear All,
This is a very important subject. It is the caribbeans and pot is available, alhtough, here is what are your risks:
SMU has a zero drug tolerance policy, meaning you wil be expelled from school.
The police department will put you in jail, and most likely you will be deported from the island to your country of origin.
all together, not a pretty picture......
Police here is tough on drugs as they are on any crimical activity, one good reason why cayman is almost crime free
