I was wondering if anybody would know if I would be able to get in to
St. Mathews? I have a lot of direct patient care experience as an EMT and a fire man. Plus I volunteer at a hospital in the ER and I do research work and I am a Bio. major. However, I only have a cum. gpa of 2.35-2.40. And I may not take the MCAT's. If anybody could tell me how I would fair I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. I am going to be finshing up my science prereqs. in the next year and a half before I get my bachlors in biology. Plus a lot more direct patient care and volunteer experience. I am also very good at interviews.

Hopefully your science capabilities are better than your spelling. Anyway if St. Mathew's is similar to SABA without MCAT you need close to 3.0 to be competetive. Maybe it is not as difficult there, but they do seem to be a good school.

kidcohen,

Caribbean medical schools are unique in the sense that not only look at GPA and MCAT scores, they look at the entire package. This might include maturity, potential for leadership and the like. Without these assets, an applicant might not fare well with the admissions committee. Looks like you have many other talents aside from your GPA. You should not be concerned. Apply. That is the only way you will find out. Take Care.
