Hey all

Im in Florida and we are going to get hurricane Charley on Friday. I was wondering how you all road the storm out? Did they close the school? Was it pretty nasty? Does the Grand Cayman Government have any shelters and if there are can you take pets to the shelter?

actually...the hurricane was ridiculously nothing. it just rained and got a little windy. they shut down the schools and businesses for thursday, but its beautiful outside...

its so funny, i was talking to a few locals and they were laughing about the hurricane. they told me not to even worry about it, they said that only the people from outside the caymans are the ones in the stores buying up all the canned goods and batteries, and they were correct.

thats nice to here. It is supposed to be a cat. 3 when it hits tampa. Im glad it wasnt that bad

looks like americanimg is wrong again folks.....hurricane charlie has hit florida, with winds up to 120mph. check your local weather station for details and not this board(especially americanimg) for hurricane info. thanks.

Well i just got off the phone with my dad and he was in the direct path of the eye of Charley. He really got beat up and his town looks like a tornado went through it. They had winds of 127mph.

i think the storm basically missed jacksonville, fl.....last night ther was mild storms.....no biggy.....

Yeah, I asked him a similar question before, but I guess he forgot to respond... I believe he is currently in Maine for that master's degree, but I have no idea why he is coming back this semester.

JP, MDTOB, do you guys know about this?

I thought he told me once that he is a first semester student, and the reason he's not answering is because they have a finals week now

hey im back in Cali, i didnt expect the hurricane to hit florida becuz it changed its path before it hit cayman, sucks that it messed up everything, during finals week and the week before i had no idea what the heck was going on in the world outside cayman.

fh71182 ..? do u have a problem with me or something? your remarks were harsh. im not perfect but i try my best to help ppl out here on the boards. i am a med student here at SMU just like MDTOB and a few others. i dont appreciate the rudeness. yeah i was wrong, i'm human.
