Well I've heard that although they "have" DSL, they haven't installed it for anyone yet.

There are different packages you can get, depending on how fast you want to be connected or something like that. I think the cheapest and slowest one is around $50/month, and it goes up from there. I'm not getting it so I haven't paid that much attention...

Didn't someone post the website for the phone company or something? Does the phone company even HAVE a website?!

I saw the notice at school about two months ago about DSL. The lowest about $50 a month and the highest about $90. The differences were mostly (as I recall) about terms of cintract and cost of installation.

I don't know a soul who has DSL here.

Maybe it will come soon.

Best of Luck!

Well, I coming to you live from my newly activated DSL account here on Saba. $150 to purchase the modem, not sure if you could get around that by bringing your own or not, $80 per month for 128k, think like $50 or so for 64k. Still not the same as you're used to back home, but a vast improvement from very expensive very slow dial-up.

Hey everyone
I got DSL hooked up the other day down here. The phone company was surprisingly fast in setting it up - it only took 2 days which is pretty sweet down here.
I just got the basic plan which is $50 or something. I think it works pretty well and is a vast improvement over the satellite internet they have at school. Its kind of slow and has the tendancy to go down a lot. I never had dial-up so I don't know how it compares, but since its DSL you don't have to pay a connection fee or a per minute fee like with dial-up, so it ends up being less expensive.

My dormmate and i got DSL recently and it's pretty fast even for the cheapest package. It's like working with a wireless network. You can always go to the library if you find it too pricey--they're pretty decent, as well.

if you dont have a phone line through the company, there is also a $500 deposit

and you have to pay for the phone line which the cheapest is ~12/month
and you cant call anything other then saba numbers with it, so no cell phones, as they come from sint maartin...
