A few questions about uniform

1) we can basically wear any kind of white plain polo shirt? i mean i bought alot of plain white ( no design) polo shirts without any logos, is that fine?
2) what about shorts, i bought a few shorts that are like cargo type with pockets on the leg, but they are khaki and casual
or they want us to wear dress shorts?

Thanks guys

You should be perfectly fine with this.

I think gebbils was talking about a carpenter style khaki short (it has bulky, big pockets on the sides), whereas the "dress" shorts are just like those plain old khaki pants style shorts (with regular pockets) on the side...
haha...

Hey All,
I heard that you have to wear a specifically selected uniform top that has the school logo embroidered around the neckline with khaki colored dress pants, otherwise a $50 fine is charged. Or do they levy a fine if someone does not wear the uniform for a day? :?

You do NOT have to have anything with SMU logo on it. A 9.99 Walmart white golf shirt works just as well.

I know you can be asked to leave class and return in uniform if you are not appropriately attired. One of the current students will be able to answer that better than I. I just wanted to make sure it is absolutely clear that you do not have to buy the SMU polos. Any white collared shirts (short or long sleeved) will be fine. If you choose to buy the SMU polo, great.

If you have any question about student policies, please email the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Heller, at sheller@smu.ky.

since i have been here i havent seen anyone fined 50bucks but i have seen people get lectured by the dean, and also i believe sent home to change. dress code isnt that big of a deal to follow, just khaki colored pants or shorts or skirts and a white top.
