Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how we get lecture notes? I heard there was a computer in the lecture hall that could be accessed before and after class. Do we use zipdisks or memory sticks? Are the notes accessible via web? If anyone knows how we get these presentations, please let me know. Thanks!

I am just a second hand source of information, but I heard most people get their notes directly from professors' laptops. Most people use jumpdrives (attaching directly to a USB port).

You're correct, most classes use Powerpoint presentations for class notes, and most professors put those presentations on the classroom computer which is used to display the presentation during class, and so that you can retrieve the presentations (or any other info/notes that the professors or other students put on) from that classroom computer before or after class. There are a few classes however that don't use powerpoints, in which case you just take notes on the class lecture to supplement the reading from textbooks. To get the files off of the classroom computer, you can use either a zip disk, which is kind of the old way that everything was done around here, or with a USB pen drive, which is the new, easier, and more popular way. I'd recommend bringing at least a 128mb pen drive, 256 or even 512 is a lot nicer too b/c some presentations can get up to 10+ MB's (some in Path get up to 30 or 40), and over the course of a block, it adds up. Plus a lot of students have other resources like video & audio clips/lectures which can be quite helpfull, but moving all those with a small pen drive can get pretty repetitive.
