Greetings and welcome to our humble community,
It is my privilege to inform you about a fine SUSM tradition. It is usual and customary for the new arrivals to greet each returning 5th semester student at the airport and carry his/her luggage from there to the 5th semester student's residence. An arrival schedule will be posted at the dorm, so be sure to check it as soon as you arrive. It is considered the height of bad form to neglect this duty. I'm sure you don't want your cadaver dissected and sutured back together improperly, right?
As far as preparations for this endeavor go, please make sure that you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring plenty of water. It is 1,000 feet straight uphill from the airport to where the nearest 5th semester students live and the september weather can be brutal, especially if you don't stay properly hydrated.
See you at the airport and don't scratch my luggage...

My contribution to society has already been made through the job I do. I don't owe fifth semester students anything (yet). Maybe you should rethink trying to push over the new students (most of us have been used and abused by other jobs and people- we're too old for that game).
I'll gladly bring you a new pair of tennies for you to carry my luggae up the hillside (it's the hospitable thing to do you know)!

Hey Guys,
Ignore Steve - he enjoys starting rumors and telling tales about people. I just call him Granny Gossip.
He gives pretty good island tours though.
He'll also be doing a presentation for you at Orientation. I'll be there briefly as well just to make an announcement about Sunday morning services.

Yep, it sounds as though the island is going to be just like home or the hospital (everyone knows everything and tells tales about mountains and mole hills). Home sweet home.
Hey ~S 8) , you think you could stick around in orientation to protect us from stevo :?:
