Apartments

I have read from afew posts that decent 1 and 2 bedroom apartments are hard to find. Generally what are the apartments like, i.e. size, price etc? If I start in January when should I come down to start looking?

I thought that first semester students have to sleep in the dorm...
although i heard that living in an apartment is better..... anyone wanna share an apartment in the first semester?

If you are going solo then your first year I believe you are supposed to stay on campus.

I heard that sometimes they overbook the dorms, so some first semester students have to live in arranged apartments. Also, 1st timers who have spouses or kids are alowweed to live off campus.

From what they've told me, you should start looking about a month before you plan to arrive, since no one knows what will be available until then.

I've been told the opposite by the school, that decent apartments aren't hard to find! What about 2 or 3 bedroom houses?

I will be arriving only 1 week before classes. A two or three bedroom house would be even better but how much do they rent for. Other than my spouse I would prefer not to have any roommates.
