there are hoops courts and soccer fields. SMU students play bball every weekend and there is a school team that plays together in soccer. as far as non-school activities, snorkeling is HUGE here on the island, plus you can jet ski, swim, etc. no surfing unless you want a face full of coral

Thats great news! I thought we would be studying all day , every day.
Do most SMU students come to play ? or is it just a few people there? I need some competition.
Do we need to bring tennis rackets and balls or does SMU provide us with them?
Finally are the recreation activities indoor or outdoor, isnt it too hot to play outside?

There are quite a few basketball courts and MANY tennis courts here on the island. There is an indoor court i believe. Tennis courts line Seven Mile Beach Road, where SMU is located. They sell all the sports equipment here, like balls and rackets, but it'd be cheaper if you were to bring them from the US. As far as basketball is concerned, every Sunday about 10-15 guys and some girls gather at the basketball court near the dorms (5 min walk) -near Kirk's Supermarket. They usually start at 1030am or 11am. Yes, there is competition in basketball....we can ball!!! BRING IT.

Its on....basketball, soccer whatever you name it I'm there. As for the more relaxing side. Who's into scuba diving? The diving on Cayman is absolutely awesome. If you're not certified you should be. Who's bringing the ball? I can't fit it into my luggage. lol.
I do hope we have time for fun. We couldn't possibly be studying all the time.....could we??
Hey if anyone wants to IM before we get there I'm on MSN with m_shehorn@hotmail.com
c-ya soon
