I know studying is important...but what do students do to unwind and have fun???
Any clubs or other activities?

Barracuda bait is a lucrative and promising activity. I'm sure you'd get tons of action doing that :wink: Some of the other diving students may even offer to take pictures of the other ocean life that comes around once you've distracted the beast. :lol:

In addition to hiking, swimming, and diving, you'll spontaneously get together with friends, go to various parties, etc. Also several people bring DVDs (since most computers come with DVD-ROM drives now).

You can also sleep... :P

Let's not forget taking a trip to St. Maarten and enjoy the clubbing scene and casinos here!!!

Are any of you going to be around on August 15th? I have about a 1/2 day layover there (wanted to make sure WinAir got me to my flight on time). I get to SXM at 7-something and fly out at 2-something... la di da what to do.....

ah... Exams for the 3rd semesters goes till the 18th so I have to apologize since I'll have crawled into a hole studying for finals.

So sorry to hear that.... I'm third semester as well (if I haven't already stated that) but we're done on the 12th. We take two shelf exams (micro and neuro) the Monday before that...BLECH! Do you guys take shelves at AUC? A classmate and I were just pondering that...

Yeah, we take shelf exams but we took our shelf exam at the beginning of the semester for classes we took the previous semester(ok, so we've only taken 2 so far, Histo/Cell Bio and Anatomy/Embryo). The other shelf exams will be given in 5th semester along with the Kaplan Step 1 course and their tests.

We don't take the Anatomy and Histo shelf exams. They just upped the other semesters to two exams though - second semester now takes Physio (that one sucked!) and Psych, we're taking Neuro and Micro, then we also take the Path one 5th along with the whole Kaplan. I don't know if we take Pharm - I think we might at the end of 4th (HOLY CRAP! I'm about to be a 4th semester student!!!)

*sigh* Tests, tests, and more tests. Today we have our Neuro presentations and I'm absolutely MELTING in this outfit I have on. :roll:

Hello all! I don't know what all these people are talking about. Saba is a dry island. there's no alcohol allowed within 500 meters of its shore. We medical students relax the same way I'm sure all you soon to be NEWBIES relax. We have a chess club, a computer hackers club, we play tournament bridge, pinochle, video games and D&D. We try very hard to stay out of the sun, because we are all so pasty from all the hours spent in the library. Oh yeah, we also drink huge amounts of caffeinated soda and eat truck loads of snack foods.

Why would anyone want to do anything else to relax? Geez!

hahaha yeah i saw that red stripe commercial today, there are 2 of them, the 2nd one is the funnies when they are talking about getting your friends keys before they drive, then you ask them for their pants..haha..
anyway....yeah beer is good, but i dont think we will have nearly as much time as we would like to enjoy the aftermath of beer binge drinking...lol
