For 2nd term do we need a letter stating that we are SGU students? I ask because for 1st term we had to present a document that the school gave us telling them we were students.

Also since we started in Jan 2004, do we fill out FAFSA again while we're in Grenada or would we have sufficient time to fill it out while we come back home during December?

Thanks

You dont need a letter. They stamped your passport the first time so they know you are students. No more letter to worry about.
the FAFSA is for the entire year but you will need to fill it out a good couple of months before your term is done so they can process the paperwork and there is no delay in your loan check. But that didnt prevent me from getting my loan check nearly 6 weeks into the term almost every term! Its no that time consuming to do the renewal and the Master promissary note. It takes less than 30 minutes even if you have to do it during 2nd term.

yup....no prob with the 're-entry'..... just show your student card now...and no prob. Also...don't forget your computer purchase receipt and their tax receipt so you don't get dinged twice! have a good term,
Geoff
have you made it out to La Sagesse yet?? great little beach.

i'd like to know if the delay in the loan checks being disbursed is a common occurence for many students or does it rarely happen? Thanks.

I just got into the country yesterday... The immigrations officer didn't ask to see a student ID card... probably just looked at the Immigration stamp from last time.
Also, I went into the green customs lane, and the officer just asked what I had in my duffel bag (scuba gear) and let me through without asking if I had a computer or for the reciept that I paid last time!

As for the loan checks, mine isn't getting disbursed until Aug 2, so sometime after that. Check when your disbursement date is.

I came back on Sat. and the Immigration guy just asked me how long I was staying and when I was flying out. The Customs lady asked if I was bringing a computer and looked at my receipt. She also asked what I had in my cooler and asked me to open that, but didn't open the other two (yes I brought three bags) and no duty paid!!(Hope my sister can say the same when she comes in with two more bags!!(I know, know, but that Shiatsu Massager-like the big iJoy chair but sits in a chair- is going to come in handy this term!!).
My plane was full so they really didn't have time to go through everything.
