I notice that the BSCE I next term (end of term 2) is going to be given the VERY NEXT DAY after finals! My question is, are we supposed to be studying last semester's material intermittently throughout term 2 to prepare? Or do they not really expect you to "study" for it and intend it to be more of a personal indicator for your own benefit?? Should I be worried about this??? (I feel like I've already forgotten 90% of what I just learned last term!!! )
Any advice is appreciated!
This is definitely a personal indicator for you to figure out what you are good at and what you dont really know. If you feel you have time then you should integrate last term's material into the second term courseload. But there is no sense in over loading yourself if you are already having some trouble in Physio/Neuro, etc. Most people try to cram in as much as they can from a "First Aid" book the last couple of days following finals, but I would advise you to just sit back and relax. Its almost impossible to cram for such exams.
good luck with the upcoming term!

There were people in my class that put straight C's and walked out of the exam in 30-40 minutes. Its a long exam. Most people try to take it seriously to see where their are weakest and try to go from there. I cant really recall studying for it at all. I dont think any of my friends studied for it. I am sure there were those that did.
But just remember BSCE 1 and 2 along with your GPA are also used by the school to certify you to take step 1. I know there was a thread earlier that explained the multiple possiblities say if you pass one and fail the other then GPA is considered... etc.

Isn't it annoying?!! My suite mates were 2nd termers last semester and at least they got a couple of days to review!!! I go out to dinner on Friday nights with a few of the people I study with and they plan to do DES this term, so we will probably review 1st term thing on Fri- preps them for DES and keeps us up-to-date with the old material a small chunk at a time. Then, we'll see...

FYI,
Nobody really cares about either BSCE, with the possible exception of the hideously competitive people you kind of want to avoid anyway. It has no consequence unless your GPA is below a 2.25, in which case you probably have a lot bigger things to worry about.

You need to pass BSCE 1 or 2 or have a 2.5 or above to get your ticket to sit the USMLE. So yes most people do not take it that serious, but make sure your gpa is above the 2.5.

Ours was the day after finals also. At that point I was too burnt out from studying for finals, that I just relaxed. If you truly learned the material, it shouldn't be bad. I did well on both of them without studying.
