I will be flying down to SGU on Aug. 11 on American airlines. I called to see just how much luggage i could take and they told me that there was an embargo that limited people to a combined checked baggage allowance of 70lbs (yes this 70lbs includes both allowed carryons combined). One can carry on additional 40lbs on to the airplane. I also contacted the AA cargo department. They told me that they could not ship any cargo to Grenada under the embargo. With this in mind, I opted to call UPS. UPS told me that the only way they can ship to Grenada was if the items to be shipped were in some sort of locked box (I took this to be a locking trunk of sorts)---this would also cost about $455 plus additonal fees. I guess my question is, if you you live in Kentucky, is it possible to have anything shipped to Grenada? Does amerijet only serve the miami area? Can I store stuff in Grenada if I do splurge and have stuff shipped?

At the end of the term there is a storage area (safe for most things like clothes, books etc.).

Not sure about AmeriJet. Have you called them? I sent stuff from Toronto through them. You may also be able to ship your stuff from Kentucky to Miami, and then let them take it from there.

Cheers,

What embargo(maybe it is American Airline and their own "embargo" ) are they talking about? I can get practically anything shipped to me and I do all the time. Including a few hundred pounds of computer equipment(that cost me a pretty penny!)
