hello,
i'm entering jan '05
should i take CPR course before entering?
as well, so far what i've heard is NOT to buy the medical kit...just bring your own stetoscope (whoops with the spelling), although even that is not so important
thanks so much!

If you want u can, depending on how much it costs, if u have time, etc? If you show a recent card from the American Heart Association when u get to SGU, you will be exempt from the CPR course the first weekend and the test.
Don't bother with the kit. They even provide stethoscopes for you to use during that one time.

I suggest doing it, if you have the time.
the reason why, is that it will give you more spare time that first (2nd?) weekend at SGU to study or chill. I remember hating the fact that we had to do that thing on a friday night.......

Hey Silenthunder,
Noticed you're from Canada. Do you know if SGU accepts the St. John ambulance CPR course, which is in accordance with the guidelines of the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada? Just curious cause I completed mine in February and I have my "certificate", so I'm hoping I can present this to the school.
Thanks,
dj

sorry djs, not completely certain (I'm familiar with the cert. you're talking about, but not sure if this is the same - although I've got a strong feeling it is)
you should really call Bayshore and check with them regarding this. They'll give you the bottom line. If for some reason you can't get a hold of them, bring your cert with you to Grenada, to see if you can get an answer there.
sorry I couldn't be more help.
Cheers,
Silenthunder

I have been an EMT for the past 4 years and my card just expired (7/1/04) My CPR card expires on December 2004, I am going to start SGU in Jan, will the school let me slide or can i just take the test and not waste my time with the class?

No, your card will be expired so you will have to take it with the rest of the class.
