Hey guys,
Just wondering if there are movie theaters in Grenada? If there are, do they usually show new released movies? Leaving on the 9th and the movie I have been expecting ("Alien vs predator") won't be showing until the 13th of Aug. Just wondering....thx.

yes, and the movies come out later then in the states so you should be able to watch it.

The closest movie theater, which is about 5 minutes from campus actually has a website with times and movies they are showing. Check it out at http://www.triplereels.com

Hey Big,
Thanks for the link. Wow, Spiderman2 is about to release there, so that means I will be able to watch Alien Vs. Predator sometime in Oct. or Nov.

I too am eagerly awaiting AVP, although I may end up seeing it on video now........ (not sure if I'll go see it in Grenada - if you don't have anyone else to see it with - gimme a shout).

CHeers,
Silenthunder i think the tag line "Whoever wins, we lose" is merely truth in advertising. But then in grenada, nearly every movie begins to look good.

I remeber the student government getting movies and projecting it onto the wall of the Bell Hall down where the DES office is. It was like a big outdoor theater and the quality wasnt so bad. They had popcorn and beer, etc. It was better than the small theater by the TCBY.

Yeah theoretically the RA's put on movies every Friday or Saturday night in Alumni Hall/PD Lab, but it isn't advertised too well, so I don't know if this is just another product of the "rumor mill."

Just wondering how is the quality of the theater in general. Is it clean? As long as it is bearable then it is all good!

yeah, it's clean, (or at least: when I went there it was clean :D )
no odd smells.
screen was smallish, but I'm not really complaining.
it wasn't a bad experience, and I would repeat it.
Cheers,

I can beat that: In my day, there was the Regal, in town around the carinage or perhaps before it; It was huge, ran mostly indian and kung-fu movies but occasionally good stuff on a british release time table; movies with African-americans (and they usually were AA as it was hollywood) got in sooner. Also James Bond (Goldeneye) ran immediately but that was probably the british time table again. They love bond. There were tiles dangling by a thread from the ceiling and bats flying around. No aircondinitioning. Sit in the balcony for full experience.

Watched some good movies there in my day as a kid...lol.
The place got really run down(you might wonder how that was possible but it is) with the sound quality being crap and imagine being just as bad.I think it is a bit improved but I have not been there in years and years.
(I would just await on DVD release but with tripple reels I go there)
BTW that it is located on the corner of Lagoon road and Paddock.

I'm not sure how file sharing works at SGU, or how the download speeds are...
But if you're so eager to see it, then maybe you should just download it off Kazaa or LimeWire.

one of my fond GDA memories is going to see goldeneye; in spite of the schueld for GE first, (they always did double features) they played Tommy boy first. I hadn't laughed that hard in years. Funny, its funnier in greanda than in teh us.
