Is the ACE health insurance the school markets the best deal? What do you guys do for health insurance?

Insuring my wife and kids through ACE would cost $4,749 for a year.
That seems really pricey.

Thanks.

just added:

Looks like ISI (the company you get when you click on the link valumd puts on the words health insurance) would cost about $1950. Any body use them?

Go to the Global Coverage for individuals and familes for the above link I just sent...

Try a higher deductible and the premium costs fall dramatically!

Thanks ducman. I'll be looking into that.

Do any current students mind sharing what works for them? Thanks again.

What about travelcuts.com? I know travelcuts.ca offers insurance for Canadians, I just didn't have time to look into it because I'm starting school in a month. See if they have travel insurance for Americans. Sorry, that's all I can think of for now.

How strict is the school about having insurance? What if there was a delay and I don't have my insurance when I arrive on the island? Will I get deported?

Actually, you don't have to carry insurance at all during basic sciences.

Excellent, then I don't have to worry if there's any delay. Always good to have it though. If I find the island extremely safe, maybe I'll ditch the insurance next year: I only bought it for 3 semesters -- $450.
