How are the apartments in DR? Is there a specific building that students stay in? Any info on this subject is appreciated. By the way, are there any students joining the pre-med program also coming from NYC?

Hello,
I'm sorry, but UNIBE doesn't have Residency Facilities.
My job is to help new students find housing and give them general orientation on Student Life/ life in DR.
What I reccomend is to be there around august 20th (Orientation Week begins on the 30th), this way you have time to find an apartment, get settled, etc. by the time you start school.
We have a Housing list that has plenty options, I strongly suggest you take a look at it. I'm sure we can find you a nice place if you do it this way.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
Regards,

Ay what up guys? Are there any desi people going to unibe this fall? As for apartments, you could rent out a 3 bedroom penthouse for 300us a month. Thats only if all 3 rooms are rented. If anyone is up for that please contact me at LaCure23@aol.com If anyone else has any other info on apartments close to UNIBE please email me. My father and I planning on visiting UNIBE July 30th-Aug 4th. The only thing is I havent been accepted yet...(knock on wood) Oh yeah, im from So Cal

Hey,
I'm from NYC also, I'll be attending UNIBE in September. I'm currently looking for housing . One of the suggestions that Students Affairs sent was UNIPLAZA. Can anybody tell a little about it. Is it comfortable and is it worth the amount that they are asking? Anyone's help is appreciated.

Hey My name is sravani. I have been studying at UNIBE for 3 years now. I have an apartment that I'm going to let go of, because I have to take the semester off to study for the USMLE.
It's got three bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms, Living and Dining area in one elongated room, a spacious kitchen. The building is beautiful, and it has a 24 hour guard. And we have a generator, so there's not need to worry about the electricity thing. The apartment comes unfurnished 500 dollars a month. And it comes furnished for 750 dollars a month. So if you had a roommate, the rent would come to around 250 dollars a month furnished. If you would rather rent the apartment unfurnished, I have all the funiture that I am selling.
If you are interested or have any questions about life in DR. Let me know.
My email address is lila1284@hotmail.com. My cell phone number is 809-756-0611.
Have a good day!

Uniplaza is one of the suggested apartments that the Office of Students Affairs recommends. I'm interested in knowing a little more about it from students who have actually lived there or people that they know that live there. Is is a comfortabl and safe plcae to live? Does anyone out there highly recommend it or should we just stay clear? Please advise...I'm attending UNIBE in september and I'm in the process of looking for a place to live.

They have three types of apartment, A(two bedrooms, living room and a big kitchen) 675 dollars per/month, type B( one bedroom, living room and a little kitchen 625 per/month, type C (studio with a little kitchen) 475 per/ month. All the apartments include cable, house maid (two times in a week), water, electricity, air conditioner, phone (local calls only), internet (optional), laundry and vigilance 24hrs. It's a nice place to live, very close to Unibe.

I urge you to stay in a hotel for a week or even a few days to let you shop around for a place. Once you've shopped around you'll find that you can do a lot cheaper than 600+ dollars for a one or even a two bedroom apartment. You can find a really nice place, close to UNIBE for half that if you look around and do the footwork. Just a thought. Take care and God Bless.
Ozzie.

Yes that's correct, two bedrooms for 675 per month. I saw the apartment.
If you have a roomate is really a good deal.
