hey guys,
i've got a 2.75 GPA at SGU right now. I have to complete 5th and 6th term soon. I also haven't passed BSCE 1. What steps do I need to take to do well from this point on and not fail the boards? i can't really say; its all about how you study, youre time frame, ie the unanswerables from any one else. As for general studying, i would condence my notes into a few pages which in itself makes for a reviwe and then you can review the condensed pages, and consider a boards review course. You can still do ok on the step one; But if you think you are struggling, seriously consider a review course. also talk with DES for overall technique issues in class. All the best,

Hi...
You're very close to a B gpa and you've probably done well (solid B's) in some classes but took some hits somewhere along the road.
Depending on your learning style, you may benefit from a board review course. Another thing you may want to do is study from "first aid for the USMLE step I" during "vinnies" term and use the BSCE II as a practice run at the USMLE step I. The BSCE II is not entirely similar to USMLE I but there are similarities and passing the bsce II and/or doing well will give you some confidence.
Obviously, you have to find out what works best for you but I think a combination of a board review course and 4-6 weeks of studying should be good enough prep...
