hi,

question about the math level in pre-med and Med school.

I heard that in pre-med the math level is really low, just a rehashing of algebga I. If the math level is really low, how it prepares me for the Med-school?
What about the med-school, skills what I get from pre-med school are worth of nothing? What kind of math I will have in Med-school? is it mostly medicine calculations?

It would be really nice if someone could send me any exsample about the math exam
Thanks!
Antti

Most U.S. med schools and many foreign schools require College Algebra (which is re-doing algebra), Trigonometry, and Statistics. Some also require Calculus. Each schools website will show what they require. If you do up through Calculus you won't have any limitations on where you attend.

The subjects are worth knowing as a physician, especially stats.
You can identify when people may be using numbers in journals to say things that might not be true, or don't jive with thier conclusions. In other words, you'll understand what you read in more depth.

In med school you will mostly memorize what you need, but a background in mathematics help you understand why they work. Which is the point when you're trying to figure out what's wrong with some patient.
